Where Stone Flows

About this piece
Closely framed sandstone walls reveal fine layers bending through a narrow canyon. Luminous orange and rose surfaces rise behind a broad, shadowed foreground curve, drawing the eye inward through overlapping folds. Without a visible horizon, the composition holds an intimate balance of enclosure and movement.
The story
On this September day, light reaches into the canyon and gathers along the sandstone folds. The eye follows a thin line across the wall until it disappears beneath another curve. Orange gives way to rose, then to a violet darkness that seems to deepen between the ridges. The stone remains still, yet every surface suggests a current.
