About this piece
White stones of varied, rounded shapes stand along a pale ledge, their rows receding diagonally into soft focus. Directional sunlight reveals small pits and granular surfaces, while cool shadows lend depth to the nearly white palette. The repetition gives this close study a quiet, sculptural rhythm.
The story
Late July light falls across a gathering of white stones. Each holds a slightly different contour: a blunt peak, a softened corner, a broad and weathered face. Their shadows stretch across the ledge like dark counterparts, briefly giving weight to all this whiteness. Farther away, the rows dissolve into blur, and individual shapes become a pale rhythm.
