A Chorus Of Color

About this piece
A cobalt-blue ceramic frog anchors a crowded display of brightly painted pottery, its red lips and floral decoration standing out against a turquoise wooden shelf. Strong sunlight catches the fine crackle of its glossy surface, while shallow focus softens the surrounding vessels and blue sky into a buoyant field of color.
The story
On this March day, sunlight gathers on the ceramic frog’s raised eyes and bright red lips. Painted flowers spread across its belly, holding their color without opening or fading. Around it, curved handles and rounded vessels crowd the shelf like a silent audience. The turquoise wood carries their compact shadows, and the frog keeps its broad, unchanging smile.
