The story
On this May day, light gathers along the flower’s curled edges. Scarlet folds rise around the center, each holding a narrow pocket of shade. One rounded form stands sharply before the others, its fine surface texture briefly visible before the eye moves into softness. Beyond the bloom, the garden recedes into darkness and a small blur of green.
