Small Vessels Of Light

About this piece
Rounded, fleshy leaves flank a textured woody branch that descends diagonally from the upper left. Light passing through the foliage reveals luminous greens, while warm highlights articulate the bark. The softly blurred background leaves this intimate botanical study suspended in quiet.
The story
On this May day, light gathers in the rounded leaves, turning their thick surfaces translucent. The branch draws a rough brown path through the green, its ridges holding narrow seams of gold. Each leaf offers a slightly different angle to the brightness; some remain shaded, while others seem lit from within. Beyond them, the surrounding foliage dissolves into a soft, unbroken hush.
