The story

Late October gathers in the hollows of the rocks, where fallen leaves rest against bright moss. Water slips through the narrow gaps, spreading into pale sheets before finding another ledge. Its steady rush fills the space between the stones. The leaves hold their places along the margins while the current continues past.
