The story

September light gathers at the canyon rim, where the sun appears as a small bright point against the vastness of stone. Below, the river carries a ribbon of gold into the shadows. Narrow green margins follow the water, tracing a softer line beneath the fractured walls. The eye travels around the bend and returns to the central rock, held between the river’s dark curve and the luminous sky.
