A narrow cascade descends through moss-covered rocks, its pale, softened flow contrasting with the crisp textures of stone and fallen leaves. Diffuse light reveals vivid greens and copper tones, while the descending water leads the eye from the upper right into the foreground. The close composition holds movement and stillness in quiet balance.
The story
Late October gathers in the crevices, where copper and ocher leaves rest against green moss. Water slips over each stone ledge, widening into pale ribbons before entering the darker pool below. The damp rock catches a soft gleam; curled leaves hold their shapes beside the current. For a moment, the season seems to linger on the banks while the stream continues past.
