About this piece

A woodland waterfall spreads over dark rock ledges, bordered by vivid green moss, copper-colored leaves, and a pale tree trunk. Diffuse light and a veil of mist soften the upper forest, while the descending water draws the eye through the tall composition. Its smooth white ribbons contrast with the sharply textured stone and leaf litter, lending the scene a hushed, immersive quality.

The story

Late October gathers in the creases of the rock, leaf by wet leaf. Water slips past these copper gatherings and opens into pale curtains over each ledge. Moss keeps its bright green close to the stone while the upper woodland fades into mist. The steady sound of falling water fills the space beneath the trees.
