Seen from below, a palm trunk rises diagonally from the foreground into a dense crown of radiating fronds. Strong sunlight warms the ridged bark and turns leaf edges gold, while narrow openings of blue sky punctuate the overlapping greens. The converging lines give this sheltered view a sense of expansive energy.
The story
On this February day, sunlight gathers along the palm’s trunk and reaches into the ribs of its crown. The eye follows the rough bark upward, where solid wood gives way to a lattice of slender leaves. Between them, the blue sky appears in small, brilliant fragments. Beneath this canopy, the day becomes an arrangement of shade and gold.
