Between White And Blue

About this piece

A narrow stone stairway descends between whitewashed walls toward deep blue water, with a cruise ship visible beyond the rooftops. Daylight reveals the grain of the plaster and the ridges of a yellow ceramic jar, while dark metal objects counterbalance its vivid color. Curving parapets gather the composition around the steps, creating a quiet passage between intimate architectural detail and open sea.

The story

July light settles across the white walls, tracing their rounded edges and rough surfaces. A yellow jar rests on its side, its dark mouth turned toward the narrow passage. Above it, a potted cactus spreads its small paddles against the blue water. The steps disappear between the buildings, while a ship beyond the rooftops lends the still scene a sense of distance.
