About this piece

A sandy path threads through dense grasses toward an open wooden shelter with a red metal roof. Tall coconut palms frame the upward view, their arching fronds crossing an expansive blue sky. Bright sunlight draws gold from the foliage and emphasizes the contrast between textured vegetation and the shelter’s shaded interior.

The story

On this August day, the narrow strip of sand offers a passage through the tangled grasses. Above it, palm fronds spread green and amber against the blue, their fine edges catching the light. The red roof marks a small pause beneath the towering canopy. Shade gathers under its beams while the path remains bright.
