About this piece

A sand-dusted wooden walkway descends between dune grasses and rope-linked posts toward a pale beach and blue sea. Bright sunlight picks out the green and gold of overlapping palm fronds, while the converging path draws the eye toward the low horizon. Dense foliage frames an inviting passage into open water and sky.

The story

August light gathers along the palm fronds, turning their narrow edges gold. Sand settles into the grooves of the wooden path, softening the line between walkway and beach. The ropes dip from post to post as grasses crowd close on either side. Beyond the last boards, the sea offers a different rhythm: small ripples beneath a wide, cloud-marked sky.
