Seen from below, two red rock arches span the frame, enclosing irregular openings of deep blue sky and thin cloud. Strong sunlight reveals fissures and weathered surfaces, while shaded recesses emphasize the stone’s depth. Green shrubs along the lower edge offer a delicate counterpoint to the monumental forms.
The story
September light rests on the red stone, tracing each ridge and hollow. Overhead, a broad arch holds a sweep of blue; beneath it, another opening gathers pale strands of cloud. The eye travels between these windows, moving from the weight of rock to the spaciousness beyond. At the foot of the stone, small green leaves catch the same light.
