Two open wooden doors sit within a weathered reddish stone surround, flanked by whitewashed pillars and black lanterns. Strong sunlight draws out the grain of the wood and the roughness of the masonry, while the central opening leads the eye up stone steps toward hanging laundry and a patterned stone facade. The composition gives an ordinary domestic entrance a quiet formality.

The story

Late July light falls across the whitewashed threshold, revealing every chip and uneven edge. The wooden doors stand apart, leaving a narrow view of steps, mottled masonry, and white laundry. Above them, two taut lines cross the blue sky. The eye travels inward, from the bright paving to the small domestic details beyond the gate.
