Where Color Endures

About this piece

A weathered red surround forms twin arches above a blue window, divided by a slender central column and crossed by pale metal bars. Cool, even light reveals chipped paint, rust, and peeling plaster, while the tightly framed composition balances architectural repetition with irregular surfaces.

The story

July light settles across the wall, catching the pale edges of flaking paint. Two red arches meet above the blue panes, their curves held against the straight rhythm of the bars. Small traces of rust interrupt the whiteness of the metal. The window remains closed, offering color rather than a view, while the surrounding plaster loosens into shapes of its own.
