Where Blue Keeps Quiet

About this piece

A cobalt-blue double door fills the vertical frame, enclosed by rough reddish stone and weathered white plaster. Even light reveals the wood grain, worn paint, and raised panels, while dark-veined steps anchor the nearly symmetrical composition. A small green plant at the threshold interrupts the geometry with a living, irregular line.

The story

In the July light, blue gathers in the shallow recesses of the door. The handle holds a small warm glint against the painted wood, and the closed panels offer no glimpse inside. At the lower corner, green leaves spread across the patterned threshold. Between the coarse stone surround and the chipped plaster, the doorway keeps its quiet.
