The story

On this August day, the sky seems to open wider as the avenue narrows into the distance. Clouds loosen the strict lines of windows, their shapes repeated and broken across the glass. Yellow taxis punctuate the cool blue street, and pedestrians gather at the crossings. Small lights glow inside the towers. For a moment, the city's measured grids hold something as unmeasured as the sky.
