Scarlet Against Glass

About this piece
A scarlet tree sculpture rises from a black pedestal, its exposed roots reaching downward as bare branches spread across the frame. Bright light intensifies the red surface against blue sky and reflective glass façades, setting irregular branching forms against the measured grid of the surrounding architecture. The frontal composition gives this urban encounter a commanding, almost theatrical stillness.
The story
On this August day, clouds brighten the glass while the red tree holds its place between the buildings. Its smallest twigs draw fine lines across the blue, interrupting the repeated rectangles of windows. Below, roots curl over the pedestal and reach toward the paving without entering it. The eye travels from these suspended ends to the highest branches, finding a restless shape in a city of straight edges.
