The story

On the last day of October, the woodland holds its color in scattered pockets of orange, red, and gold. Water spreads over the ledges in pale curtains, breaking into foam among the dark foreground stones. Behind the falls, a steep wooden roof peeks through the leaves. Bare branches open patches of blue sky above the evergreen undergrowth. The season seems to pause along the banks, while the stream continues without hesitation.
