Broad curtains of water descend over layered rock, filling the foreground beneath a woodland of red-orange leaves, bare branches, and evergreen foliage. Cool daylight gives the falls a silvery cast against the warm stone, while a partially concealed wooden building and a low masonry wall mark the wooded banks. The wide composition balances the water’s continuous movement with the still, intricate hillside.

The story

On this last day of October, autumn holds in scattered crowns of orange and red. Water slips through narrow breaks in the ledge, then spreads into pale curtains that gather in the restless pool below. Behind the falls, a small wooden roof emerges from the leaves, its straight edges quiet among the branches. Wet rock gleams beneath the falling water. The woodland grows bare, but the stream keeps its full voice.
