Where Stone Holds Light

About this piece
An empty two-lane road converges toward red rock buttes and slender spires, their layered faces illuminated beneath a peach and lavender sky. White shoulder lines and yellow center markings give the foreground a measured geometry, while low scrub and an expansive sky frame the stone formations in stillness.
The story
September light spreads peach and gold across the clouds, and the red stone gathers its warmth. From the foreground, the road narrows to a fine thread beneath the distant spires. Yellow-green scrub borders the asphalt; small roadside signs offer a human measure against the cliffs. No vehicle enters the frame, and for a moment the journey seems to belong entirely to the eye.
