Where Autumn Turns

About this piece
A weathered wooden mill and red waterwheel rise above a rocky stream, framed by orange foliage and slender, partly bare trees. The bridge enters from the left, its stone piers and repeating rails guiding the eye toward the mill. Soft, even light reveals the grain of timber and mossy masonry, while the silky water lends movement to an otherwise settled scene.
The story
Late October holds its brightest color in the branches above the mill. Beneath the bridge, water slips between stones, gathering into pale ribbons around the larger rocks. The wheel’s red spokes echo the warmth of the leaves, while green growth persists along the banks. Timber, stone, and current share the frame, each keeping a different measure of time.
