Autumn woodland crowns a hillside, its red, orange, and yellow foliage meeting an exposed face of sharply striated gray rock. Diffuse light beneath a pale, clouded sky reveals the contrast between delicate branches and dense mineral textures. The rising sweep of the treeline gives the composition a quiet, expansive rhythm.

The story

October reaches its final day, and the hillside holds a brilliant patchwork of leaves. Orange crowns stand beside lingering green, while yellow shrubs gather along the edge of exposed stone. Fallen leaves soften the open slope between the trees. Beneath them, the rock carries its own slanting lines, cool and spare against the season’s color. The pale sky leaves both surfaces open to view.
