A low sun anchors an expansive sky, its luminous disc shifting from pale yellow to deep red along its lower edge. Beneath it, a narrow band of sea carries gold across fine ripples, balancing the sky’s soft gradients with a finely textured surface.
The story
I framed the sun with a little space between its lower edge and the sea, drawn to that brief interval of open sky. The water offered no single reflection to follow, only a broad field of gold broken by small, dark ripples. I kept the horizon low and let the color occupy most of the frame. What held my attention was the distance between two simple forms: a circle of light and a line of water.
