A weathered barn anchors the left side of this rural landscape, while the low sun casts long shadows across the sloping pasture. Fence posts and overhead wires draw the eye toward the bright horizon, beneath a sky that deepens from yellow to teal.
The story
I framed the barn at the edge of the pasture, leaving room for the light to travel across the grass. The bare tree and the utility pole stood against the bright horizon, each casting its own slender geometry into the scene. Above them, the moon was only a small pale mark. What held me there was the way ordinary things—wire, timber, uneven ground—became briefly luminous without losing any of their roughness.
