A golden shell anchors the composition as a veil of surf sweeps diagonally across wet sand. Its ridged surface contrasts with the softened water, while amber reflections bring warmth to the surrounding gray shore.
The story
I framed the shell low against the wet sand, letting the water fill the space beyond it. What held my attention was the small division between movement and stillness: the shell's bright ridges stayed distinct while the foam softened around its base. For a moment, the warm reflection and the shell seemed to share the same color. I wanted to keep that brief agreement between something solid and something already passing.
