Warm, directional light reveals the shell’s layered ridges and pointed crown against finely textured wet sand. The sweeping edge of white foam and the shell’s elongated shadow frame a brief meeting of solid form and moving water.
The story
I framed the shell close enough to let its ridges become a small landscape. Light gathered along the raised edges, while its shadow stretched across the sand toward the edge of the frame. Beside it, the foam drew a softer line, full of tiny openings and uneven curves. What held my attention was the narrow strip of dark sand between them: a little distance separating the shell from the water.
