About this piece

A low, weathered trunk stretches across clear coastal water, its pale branches set against saturated blues and dense green foliage. The level horizon offers a quiet counterpoint to the twisting wood, while sunlight reveals the textures of submerged stone and algae along the shore.

The story

I stood beneath the branches and let the shoreline frame the sea for me. One pale limb reached almost across the entire view, carrying small clusters of leaves above the water. Below it, the rocks remained visible through the shifting blue, their green surfaces catching the light. I composed around that contrast: the intricate, weathered tree close at hand and the spare, straight horizon beyond, each giving the other room.
