A sweeping palm trunk leads the eye from textured sand and dark shoreline rocks toward a luminous ocean horizon. Windblown fronds cross a sky of blue and gold, balancing the tree’s sculptural curve against the distant headland.
The story
I followed the curve of the palm from its roots in the sand to the fronds stretched across the sky. Beyond it, the sun hovered just above the water, small against the broad bands of gold. I wanted the frame to hold both the roughness of the shore and the openness beyond it. The tree gave me that connection: grounded among the rocks, yet reaching out over the sea.
