About this piece
An arching green blade carries clear water droplets against a saturated pink field, with a softer reflection completing an oval below. Bright highlights and blue-edged refractions give the droplets a glasslike clarity, balancing the exuberant color with a sense of delicate suspension.
The story
At the close of May, a slender green blade holds its small weight of water. Pink fills the space around it, gathering inside each droplet in miniature. Beneath the arch, a pale reflection bends the other way, almost closing the circle. Nothing falls; the moment rests on the narrow line between holding and release.
