Edges Of Ember

About this piece

A dense rosette of sword-shaped succulent leaves fills the vertical frame, its blue-green surfaces bordered by fine reddish lines. Strong sunlight reveals powdery textures and scattered surface marks, while overlapping blades cast deep, angular shadows. The tightly cropped composition gives the plant a sculptural presence, poised between radiating movement and stillness.

The story

In the light of early May, each leaf holds a different shade of green. Sunlight catches the narrow margins, drawing threads of gold beside the red. Between the pointed blades, fine strands of silk cross the shaded gaps. The eye follows these rising forms, then returns to the folded leaves near the center, where light gathers in small, curved hollows.
