A Star In Bloom

About this piece
A glazed ceramic starfish spreads across a blue tabletop, its five arms covered in vivid floral and geometric patterns. Strong directional light catches the glossy surface and casts sharply defined shadows, while shallow focus softens the surrounding animal figurines. The close framing turns a decorative object into an expansive arrangement of color and line.
The story
On this March day, light gathers in small white sparks across the glaze. Yellow flowers open along the starfish’s arms, bordered by green edges and fields of red. Behind it, painted creatures recede into soft patches of color, their rounded forms resting on the blue surface. The star remains still, holding a whole garden within its outline.
