About this piece

Purple flower clusters and sunlit leaves frame a broad lake, with small rowboats beneath a tree-lined skyline of pale buildings and twin towers. Bright light draws out the foliage’s translucent veins and the water’s fine ripples, while the open sky balances the dense foreground. The composition holds urban architecture at a quiet distance across the green water.

The story

August gathers at the water’s edge in purple blossoms and broad green leaves. Beyond the stems, rowboats sit low on the lake, their occupants small against the wooded shore. Sunlight breaks into bright fragments across the ripples. The towers rise above the canopy, but here the eye lingers among flowers, water, and the fullness of summer.
