About this piece

Tall pines rise above dense green undergrowth and drifts of yellow wildflowers, their dark trunks forming a measured rhythm across the hillside. Sunlight enters through the central branches, illuminating petals and needles against a vivid blue sky. The contrast between intricate woodland shadows and abundant flowering gives the scene a quiet radiance.

The story

On this September day, yellow flowers gather in the spaces between the pines. Light slips through the branching canopy and rests on the uneven ground, leaving pockets of cool green shadow. A slender wire fence passes almost unnoticed through the growth. The eye follows the flowers uphill, where their gold continues beyond the nearest trunks.
