A Threshold of Blue

About this piece
A vivid blue door anchors a close arrangement of white stucco walls, curved parapets, and a small blue-framed window. Soft daylight reveals the grain of the plaster and casts cool shadows into the recesses, while potted succulents and a terracotta vessel interrupt the restrained palette. The tightly framed entrance feels sheltered and still.
The story
July light settles over the white walls, tracing their uneven surfaces and rounded edges. The closed blue door holds the eye beneath a shallow curve of plaster. Beside it, a cactus lifts its broad pads from a square pot, while fleshy green leaves crowd the opposite ledge. Above the doorway, the warm rim of a terracotta vessel peeks into view. The small entrance gathers these ordinary things into a quiet pause.
