The story

July light settles across the white walls, making each dark pebble distinct beneath the eye. The stairway offers one landing, then another, each revealing a little more blue. Leaves spill over a large white planter, and pink flowers gather along the railing. Far below, the ships seem small against the water and the long, dark outlines of the islands. The descent becomes an invitation to linger.
