The story

Late June gathers in blue shadow beneath the clouds. Along the bridge, lamps form a bright procession, each point of light finding a softer echo on the water. The nearer tower rises above the dark hills, its cables descending in long, measured curves. At the rocky edge, the reflections loosen into ripples, and the rigid geometry of the crossing becomes something fluid.
