An uneven stone path recedes between dense stands of bamboo, whose upright and leaning stems form a vaulted passage. Sunlight filters through the narrow leaves, illuminating vivid greens above and ochre leaf litter below. The central perspective draws the eye into the grove, balancing the rough ground with the canopy’s intricate rhythm.

The story

In early December, green still fills the space overhead. The path offers no smooth surface: each exposed stone asks for a slower step, each scatter of dry leaves softens its edges. Bamboo stems cross high above, dividing the pale sky into small, irregular windows. Farther into the grove, the trail narrows until its roughness becomes a fine line beneath the leaves.
