A white catamaran rests on softly rippled water before two rusted steel bridge sections separated by an open span. Pink and lavender light unifies the cloud-filled sky and water, while concrete piers and diagonal braces give the composition a measured geometry. The small vessel and broad expanses of color lend the weathered structure an unexpected gentleness.
The story
Late August holds a wash of rose and blue across the water. Beneath the towering clouds, the bridge reaches inward from both sides and stops, leaving the horizon open between its ends. Rust traces the steel braces while pale light settles on the catamaran’s twin hulls. The mast draws a slender line into the sky, and small ripples loosen the reflections around the piers.
