An oversized turquoise Adirondack chair bearing the words “Fort Lauderdale Beach” dominates the foreground, its painted marine motifs echoing the water beyond. Low golden light traces the textured sand and palm fronds, while beach nets and a distant sailboat establish depth beneath an expansive blue sky. The empty seat lends this saturated coastal scene a quietly expectant mood.
The story
December finds Fort Lauderdale Beach in gold and blue, with green palms rising above the open sand. The great painted chair waits empty, its weathered slats carrying small images of the sea facing it. Beyond the beach tennis nets, a sailboat marks the horizon with a slender triangle. Birds cross overhead, and the bright edges of footprints give the shore a delicate relief. Here, the year draws toward its close without surrendering the colors of outdoor life.
