Strong lateral light lays alternating bands of brightness and shadow across the ground, while the monochrome rendering emphasizes weathered masonry and the passage’s measured rhythm.

The story

On this January day, sunlight enters the passage in bright intervals. Each arch holds a deeper pocket of shade, and each pier briefly interrupts the light. The eye follows these repetitions inward, past rough brick faces and pale mortar joints. At the far end, the pattern gathers into darkness, leaving the empty space quietly unresolved.
