Sculpted canyon walls fill the frame, their fine sedimentary lines bending through overlapping curves. Luminous orange and coral surfaces rise above violet shadows, while the sweeping foreground draws the eye toward a narrow central recess. With neither sky nor horizon visible, the composition turns geological scale into an intimate study of texture and light.
The story
On this September day, light gathers along the upper folds of stone, glowing red where the walls turn toward it. Below, purple shadow settles into a broad, curved hollow. Thin lines follow every contour, carrying the eye through layers that seem to flow yet remain still. The world beyond the canyon falls away; only these enclosed surfaces and their changing light remain.
