Where Stone Flows

About this piece
Closely framed sandstone walls sweep across the photograph in layered curves of orange, rust, and muted violet. Light catches the fine striations while deep recesses interrupt their rhythm, and a broad diagonal face anchors the right foreground. With neither sky nor horizon visible, the composition gives solid rock an almost fluid presence.
The story
On this September day, light settles into the stone's hollows and gathers along its rounded edges. The eye follows a narrow band across the wall until it disappears into shadow. Another curve takes its place, brighter and higher, like a fold slowly opening. Nothing moves, yet the whole surface seems to carry a current.
