About this piece

A weathered wooden walkway, partly covered by sand, descends between rope-linked posts and dune grasses toward a turquoise sea. The converging rails give this quiet coastal scene a gentle forward pull.

The story

July light fills the sandy passage, catching the golden seed heads above the dunes. Each weathered slat offers another small step toward the water, while the ropes dip loosely between their posts. At the end of the path, the close textures of wood and grass give way to an uninterrupted band of blue. The sea holds a faint ripple beneath the wide, bright clouds.
