Seen from deck level, a wooden pier narrows toward a blue-roofed shelter, its yellow railings and successive lamps drawing strong lines into the distance. Orange light near the horizon fades into lavender overhead, while blurred birds and small human figures interrupt the measured geometry. The expansive sky and softly focused foreground give the scene a spacious, unhurried mood.
The story
On this March day, the sky holds a band of amber beneath a wide wash of lavender. Close to the boards, the pier seems to stretch farther than footsteps can measure. Lamps mark the way toward the small blue roof, their red-orange undersides bright against the pale air. Birds sweep across the orderly lines, briefly loosening their rhythm, while people linger near the distant rail.
