About this piece

Marked by a sign reading Anglin Fishing Pier, the structure extends from a roofed pavilion at right toward the luminous horizon at left. Repeating railings, lamps, and pilings draw the eye across the water, while gold and pink light softens the cloud-filled sky. Footprints and scattered seaweed texture the shaded beach below.

The story

October arrives at the water’s edge in gold, rose, and deepening blue. Along Anglin Fishing Pier, small lamps punctuate the long passage above the surf, their warm glow gathering beneath the pavilion roof. Waves fold around the pilings and spread a thin brightness over the sand. Footprints cross the foreground, but no one occupies the nearest benches; for this moment, the shore belongs to water and light.
