A panoramic view of Miami places its illuminated skyline between an expansive twilight sky and the smooth blue surface of the bay. Gold, green, and magenta reflections extend beneath the buildings, softening the geometry of the waterfront into broad ribbons of color.

The story

I looked across the bay and found the city held between two expanses of blue. Along the waterfront, each building offered a different color, while the water loosened those colors into long, soft reflections. I framed the skyline low enough to leave room for the evening sky. What drew me was the contrast: so many windows, so much structure, and yet the whole scene seemed to rest quietly on the water.
