White spray rises above pale coastal rocks, offset by vivid green algae and the deep blue of sea and sky. Beyond the breaking wave, a slender black-and-white lighthouse anchors the composition, its vertical frame echoing the upward surge of water.
The story
I framed the lighthouse beyond the rocks, letting its narrow silhouette hold a steady place against the sky. Closer to me, green algae traced the surfaces the water kept returning to. When the wave struck, the foreground became a tower of spray, briefly competing with the structure on shore. I wanted to keep both in the frame: the lasting marker at the edge of the beach and the shape the sea could hold for only a moment.
