A curved line of sunlit rocks encloses warm-toned shallows, while a lamp-lined pier recedes toward the open sea. Softened water and clouds contrast with the textured stone and measured geometry of the pier, bringing movement and stillness into a single coastal view.
The story
I framed the shore from behind the low curve of rocks, where the water held a warmer color than the sea beyond. To my left, the pier carried its small lamps toward the horizon, each one a little less distinct. I wanted to keep both distances in the photograph: the stones almost within reach and that far line of blue. Between them, the softened water gave my eye somewhere to rest.
